1. Lyrics. Try to listen and memorize the pronounciation. Diction, how bright is the text. I hope you remember,

that the text in our version of song is slightly different.

2. Melody. Ups and downs. Phrases, how they come together. 

​

3. Rhythm.  Notice the pulsation of beats and see how music fit. The song exists within this rhythm.

4. Think, what is attractive about this song, and why do you like it.

​

5. What is special about this performance?

STEP 3. 

Have a look at the score

LET'S START TO WORK WITH THE SCORE

1. Play the video. Look and listen.

​

2. Think about the song's structure. How many parts are there. Are there repeats, how many?

​

3. See, what your voice part and other parts do. How do voices functions change: who sings melody, harmony, bass in different parts of the song.

​

4. Sing your part together with a video, follow the notes and text and try to fit in.

​

STEP 4. 

Check your part separately

You will still hear other voices quietly on the background, it will help to keep things together.

2. Play again, follow your own "stemma" and check mistakes.

3. Mark and remember the places to breath between phrases.

Coming back to the song

LET'S SING THE SONG AGAIN  AND ADD TO IT SOME SPARK

1. Sing several times with other voices

​

2. Concentrate and keep tempo and rhythm 

​

3. Control your voice that it would sound in tune

​

3. Think and add some musical details. Imagine how it starts lyrically and quietly, then develops and goes passionately, think how the ending of the song should sound like. 

​

4. Sing again and again, till things go smoothly and you admit the work is done and it is time to enjoy.

​

5. Try to think about this song as one piece and try to perform it as "one complete take".

​
